In this video I will demonstrate how to perform a post exhaustion shoulder superset to stimulate new muscle gain.
The fastest way to overcome a plateau in muscle building or fat loss is to provide a new stimulus that your muscles are not get accustomed to.
By doing this, you give your muscles a new reason to grow bigger.
One plateau buster that I would recommend including in your workouts if you have reached a plateau is the post exhaustion super set technique.
This is a very simple yet highly effective technique that can be applied to almost any exercise.
It involves performing two sets on the same muscle group back to back.
The first exercise that you perform should be a compound movement and in this particular video you will see that I use the dumbbell shoulder press.
The second exercise in the post exhaustion superset should consist of an isolation exercise on the exact same muscle group.
In this video I demonstrate using the side raises that you can choose also perform front raises as well as rear raises.
Perform the first exercise and then immediately after controlled failure move into the next exercise without any rest in between sets.
Be sure to adjust your weight on the second exercise as you will not be able to perform or lift the same amount of weight that you normally would had you just performed that exercise by itself.
Get creative and try this in several of your workouts.
Be sure to document your lifts so that when you return to the gym you can aim to beat what you lifted in the last workout.
